"The atmosphere and expectations of success in a Crossfit gym are so far beyond a traditional gym. I love the fact that I’m learning functional movements in a safe way that will help me enjoy life to its fullest as I age."
Jennifer Penland

I’m 49 years old and I have never been competitive or involved in an organized sport. And, after one year doing Crossfit, I am the most fit I’ve ever been in my life. I am stronger now than I ever knew was possible and I can push my body farther than I ever thought I could.

It is unbelievable to think of the time and money I wasted for 4 years attending personal training sessions 3X/week – mostly machines and separated into upper body, lower body and core workouts I went through the motions, convincing myself I was getting in shape, improving my bone density, etc, all barely breaking a sweat!  I certainly did not connect the nutrition factor and after 4 years, I was heavier than when I started.

The atmosphere and expectations of success in a Crossfit gym  are so far beyond a traditional gym.  I love the fact that I’m learning functional  movements in a safe way that will help me enjoy life to its fullest as I age. I am so thankful for Jason and his ability to keep me feeling successful while challenging me at the same time. The confidence built during workouts certainly spreads to other areas of my life.  My biggest hurdle to overcome is mental. I’m working on changing the message from  “this is so hard” to “I can do this.”

I am a huge believer in the Zone way of eating, and have finally accepted the fact that grains are not my friend. Also, that a lean body is the direct result of how I eat.

And the best thing about Crossfit is the fun that David and I share by being active and physically challenged together!
