Lee grew up in Oklahoma. He spent nearly 10 years training and competing as a gymnast. It was only after high school that he got his first taste of weight training, using it as a way to stay in shape while he performed for a short time as a professional wrestler. CrossFit grabbed Lee's attention in February 2013 and never let go.
It was only through CrossFit that he discovered his true passion of Olympic Weightlifting. Lee has qualified for the 2015 USAW American Open and plans to continue competing at a national level.
"Nothing brings me greater joy than coaching an athlete to do something that didn't seem possible to them. Sometimes the smallest change in movement is all it takes to yield the result they are looking for and I always strive to find these changes. Working with our members day to day and seeing the progress they continue to make is a truly amazing experience"
Kelsey is from Edmond. She spent most of her life in the pool, competitively swimming since the age of 5. After she graduated high school, she attended Florida Southern College to swim for four years. Following her graduation from college, Kelsey began to compete in 5K and distance races. She tried CrossFit in the Spring of 2012 and quickly quit distance running.
"CrossFit is my way to still compete. I had been swimming so long, I never really learned how to workout by myself. Having like-minded friends around me to help me reach my fitness goals is just what I needed. This is the best gym in the world and I love being a part of it."
Travis is from Washington and lived in Central America for 8 years prior to residing in Piedmont, Oklahoma, for the past 15 years. During his time in Oklahoma, Travis received his Associates in Medical Sciences and has worked in emergency medicine for five years, where he achieved the TCB award from the Board of Morningstar Physicians for his hard work. He has been active his whole life; in high school, his uncle got him into weight training, which sparked his interest in fitness.
Before CrossFit, he ran long distance and has completed the Oklahoma City Memorial half marathon. After two years of training and competing under the CrossFit methodology, Travis tested for his L1 cert and is now coaching to not only better himself as an athlete, but also to help inspire others to better themselves. Currently he is studying to get his RN license as well as training to make it to the CrossFit Games Regionals. Travis considers the athletes at CrossFit OKC like family, and he loves spending most of his time there.
