Shanna, a northern girl at heart, moved to Oklahoma from Minnesota five years ago for school. She has a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Psychology and a M.S. in Forensic Science. She is married and has a 5 year old stepson. She grew up playing sports and played volleyball through college. Shanna is an Oklahoma City police officer by night and was introduced to Crossfit shortly after she got out of academy. Shanna can empathize with others struggle with weight loss as she has battled it for much of her life. When she came to Crossfit OKC she thought she was "in shape" but soon realized all that she had been missing. She likes that CrossFit places the emphasis on functional fitness and increased performance instead of looks or a number on the scale. Once she adopted eating for performance as opposed to weight loss, utilizing Zone priniciples and eventually cutting out grains and sugar, she dropped over 20 pounds while still seeing big gains in strength and recovery. She was instantly drawn to the results and the community, not to mention that it's just plain fun. Shanna is is certified in Crossfit (Level 1) and Olympic Lifting. Shanna's strengths as a trainer include her calm, assertive attitude and her genuine passion to help people, especially women, embrace their strength. She loves seeing the look on someone's face the first time they do something they thought was impossible. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
